So the new COD Black Ops 6 is out and I was about to try it out when I came up with this annoying bug ‘Loading Message of the Day‘
This issue is less common in PS4 and PS5 but very frequent if you are playing this on your PC.
If you are facing the same issue, don’t worry, I was also on the same page, and in this article, I’ll tell you some of the ways to easily fix the Black Ops 6 “loading message of the day’ issue.
What is the “Loading Message of the Day Error’
The error occurs sometimes when someone tries to run the game but the COD Black Ops 6 is stuck on the loading screen and shows ‘Applying Updates’.
The problem is, you wait for hours and the screen will still be stuck.
The actual reason is still unknown, many say the servers are down, while others blame Activision for the issue and the bug.
How to Fix Black Ops 6 Stuck on Loading Issue
You can try these three ways to fix the issue. Most probably one of these ways will definitely fix it, it did fix mine.
Move the COD Files to Another Location
This is the most effective way to fix the ‘Loading Message of the Day’ issue. There is a folder that has some files including in-game settings, some unreadable files that may be the reason for this error.
Here is how you can fix the error:
- Go to your documents folder on your PC
- Look for the Call of Duty folder
- Now you have two options, you can either delete it or you can move the folder to some other location
I would recommend moving the entire folder to another location.
This folder is currently glitched out. This is basically your settings file, and the game just cannot pull up your settings at the moment.
Once you remove it, the game will go ahead and create a new save file, which should work and allow you to sign into your account.

How I Fixed the Issue
What I did was move the folder from my documents to somewhere else on my PC, and then I turned on the game as I normally would.
Surprisingly, it worked—I was able to play the game. The downside is that you’ll lose all your settings, so you’ll have to set them up again.
If you don’t want to redo your settings, just copy your old Call of Duty folder and paste it back into your documents to retrieve your old saves.
There’s a possibility this may not work because it didn’t work for me, but it did for others. So, it’s kind of a 50/50 situation.
Go ahead and try it out. If it works, you’ll get your settings back; if not, you’ll need to remove it once again.
I know it’s frustrating how Call of Duty seems to introduce new bugs with each update, but that’s how it is.
Scan the Game Files
The easiest way is to scan the game files which will let you know of any missing or corrupted files and repair it automatically.
You can do it by three methods:
Battle.net
The first method is via Battle.net
- in Battle.net, open the Call of Duty HQ tab
- Go to settings and click on ‘Scan and Repair‘
- Click on ‘Begin Scan‘ and click on ‘Yes‘
Steam
You can also use Steam to scan any corrupt file:
- Go to the Steam library
- Just right-click on Call of Duty and then select ‘Properties‘
- Select ‘Installed Files‘ and click on ‘Verify Integrity of Game Files‘
Xbox App
if you are an Xbox user:
- Open the Xbox app
- Right-click on Call of Duty from the game list and click on ‘Manage‘
- Now click on files and select ‘Verify and Repair‘
You can choose one of the three given options above. The verification and scanning may take 5-10 minutes depending on the hardware.
Close the Background Applications
The issue is frequent on the PC, especially with Windows 11 users as the OS is filled with bloatware apps.
If you have Windows and facing the Black Ops 6 stuck screen issue, then follow the below steps:
- Open Task Manager
- Click on the Details tab
- Check if there is any unnecessary app running with high memory usage
- if yes, click on it and close the application
Please note, while closing any app from the taste manager, do not close any important app. Close only third-party apps and not the system apps.
To Wrap Up
A lot of COD Black Ops 6 players are facing the stuck screen with ‘Loading Message of the Day‘.
Although the error is still not known, you can try moving the COD folder to another location.
This will fix the issue, if not you can try a few other methods mentioned above.
